Yoruba people, Nigeria

A highly prized cloth, strip-woven in wild silk, spun from the naturally brown cocoon found in the tamarind tree in Northern Nigeria. This cloth would have been woven by a man using the time consuming and hence expensive technique of making decorative holes along the length of the weave.
